FlashRock Films was founded in 2005 by Alex Flaster and Adam Rockoff, two veteran producers who have created and produced series for networks including Discovery Channel, A&E, National Geographic Channel, History, MSNBC, truTV, the Weather Channel, the Food Network, and PBS. 

FlashRocks series include the Big Ten Network’s Big Ten Treasure Hunter, Investigation Discovery’s Double Cross, and CNBC’s CNBC Titans

Alex and Adam have also produced and directed two feature documentaries, The Double Life of Moe Berg and The Blue Room. In addition to its television work, FlashRock has produced dozens of projects for Fortune 500 companies, political campaigns, and nonprofit organizations.

Alex Flaster: Co-President, Executive Producer

Alex has produced, written, and directed dozens of documentaries for networks including the Discovery Channel, A&E, Big Ten Network, National Geographic Channel, History, CNBC, MSNBC, truTV, and Investigation Discovery. 

He has produced episodes for a wide range of series including Biography, History Alive, CNBC Titans, Double Cross, American Justice, and ConspiracyInside 9/11, for which he wrote and produced, was nominated for an Emmy Award and is, to date, one of National Geographic’s highest-rated shows ever.

Alex wrote and directed the feature documentary The Double Life of Moe Berg and produced the feature documentary The Blue Room.

Adam Rockoff: Co-President, Executive Producer

An entertainment industry veteran, Adam has written feature films, made-for-TV movies, and has produced numerous documentaries.

Probably best-known for his work in the horror genre, Adam is the author of the critically-acclaimed books, The Horror of It All: One Moviegoer's Love Affair with Masked Maniacs, Frightened Virgins and the Living Dead (Scribner) and Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film, which was adapted into a popular documentary for Starz.

As a screenwriter, Adam’s films run the gamut from wholesome Hallmark Channel movies, to some of the most notorious exploitation films ever made.  Adam is also a frequent guest on radio and television programs to discuss all things horror, including Bravo’s highly-rated special, The 100 Scariest Movie Moments.  

Rachel Ruiz: Writer/Producer

For over fifteen years, Rachel has been producing documentaries and TV shows for networks including A&E, History, National Geographic Channel, Science, the Oprah Winfrey Network, CNBC, Investigation Discovery, the Weather Channel, and others. 

As a leading innovator in corporate communications, she has worked with clients as varied as McDonald’s, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, and World Animal Protection. 

In 2012, Rachel spearheaded story development for the Obama campaign’s video team, where she wrote and produced high-profile documentaries for President Obama’s YouTube channel and the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Her piece on the Obamas’ 20th wedding anniversary garnered over one million views, making it one of the campaign’s most-watched videos.
